Recently our Employment Team supported the recruitment drive of a large Facilities Management Company to source Corporate Cleaners. Having sourced thirteen appropriate candidates through previous engagement with ELBA programmes and job fairs; individuals were invited in by the company to present to the two Operational Managers of the firm.
Candidates were tasked with putting together a presentation in 45 minutes highlighting who they were, why they want to work for the company in addition to what they knew about the company. The managers were extremely impressed with the professionalism and knowledge the candidates possessed in addition to the initiative they took to pre-prepare ahead of the visit.
After careful considering a very difficult decision was made to offer employment to the strongest five candidates. One of the successful candidates comments on his journey back into employment, “I walked into the ELBA jobs fair just looking for a security job in which I would be nothing but a profit margin and after speaking to the Employment Team left with the confidence I was in safe hands. Even though I have no experience in cleaning and have never considered it in the past this was fine because it was always important for me to work with a company that cares about their employees and this is why I put myself forward”.
