Summer Placement programme for students
“I enjoyed Taylor Wessing so much that I went back to college and changed my sociology course to law instead.”
Following the successful recruitment of 12 work experience candidates for Taylor Wessing in 2016, Mazars asked ELBA to develop and deliver a similar programme for 20 students interested in accountancy. This led to the Education Team working with both Taylor Wessing LLP and Mazars LLP over the summer, to deliver their respective work experience programmes ‘Tomorrow’s Talent’ and ‘Access Accountancy’ for sixth form students.
Over 40 Students were supported through an application process which included telephone interviews and feedback. One student who had been successful for the Taylor Wessings work experience commented that she had managed to secure a paid job using the feedback she had been given during the telephone interview.
Regarding the programme Sarah Morrison, Talent Acquisition Officer at Mazars wrote:
“We’re really pleased with how the Access Accountancy pilot week in London went. As it was our first year running the programme, we learnt a great deal and now have loads of ideas for rolling it out across our UK offices. It was a rewarding experience for all involved and I look forward to working with ELBA again next year.”
