BOOST! Women in the corporate world

BOOST! Women in the corporate world

Written by Chantell Brown, Head of Programme, Employment

On the occasion of Women’s International Day on the 8th March, ELBA’s Employment Team acknowledged the remarkable strides women are making in the corporate world.

ELBA, alongside AXA XL and 2-3 Degrees (a social enterprise that aims to inspire and equip young people with the personal development skills needed to fulfil their potential) relaunched the BOOST programme in October 2023, reigniting a beacon of hope and opportunity for Black and Minority Ethnic women across London. This initiative, designed to nurture personal and professional growth, offers a transformative three-week journey for women from all walks of life, especially those facing adversity.

15 exceptional women were empowered through tailored workshops held at the prestigious AXA XL offices. With AXA XL employees generously lending their expertise, these workshops became vibrant hubs of knowledge exchange, where valuable insights and experiences were shared, igniting sparks of inspiration in every participant.

Upon completion of the workshops, the women are offered one-week placement opportunities across various departments within the corporate giant.

This experience results in the development of important personal and professional skills, a sense of confidence and purpose.

As we celebrate Women’s International Day, let us applaud the resilience and determination of these women who have shattered barriers, embraced growth, and emerged as shining examples of empowerment. Their journey exemplifies the impact of collaboration, mentorship, and dedication in shaping a brighter future for women in the corporate world. May their stories continue to inspire generations to come.
