ELBA’s Parity Project wins award

Earlier this month, Reach Society, who do fantastic work for young Black men in the UK held their 7th recognition awards dinner in Bloomsbury marking 70 years of the modern Black community.
ELBA was nominated for a ‘Corporate Supporter’ award from Reach Society for our work in facilitating opportunities for young Black men via the Parity project, and we were delighted to have received the award on the night.
The Parity project, supported by State Street and Nomura, has benefitted hugely from the support of business volunteers.
Two mentors who’ve contributed to candidates’ progression, Toby and Basira, attended the awards dinner with Project Manager, Eni Timi-Biu. Basira has coached our candidates in interview and presentation skills and Toby who is passionate about supporting young people on their career journeys has recently published a book ‘The Young Professional’.
The event was hosted by Professor Sir Geoff Palmer with guest speakers including Lord Herman Ouseley, Chairman – Kick it Out, Dr Victor Olisa QPM, Former Borough Commander – Met Police, and Patrick Vernon OBE, Windrush Day Campaigner. It was an incredibly inspirational event for all who attended and ELBA is very pleased to have been recognised for this award.
