One of the most important financial institutions in the country provided inspiration for a group of young people. As part of the Career Insight Visits programme, some 15 pupils from Lister Community School spent the day at London Stock Exchange to find out the crucial role it plays and the varying job opportunities and roles available.
The Year 8 students, along with teachers and members of the ELBA team, were given an introduction to the Stock Exchange by volunteers. The teenagers were told about the varying career routes into the Stock Exchange before taking part in a banking game. They were also taught about the value of networking and how it can improve career prospects and opportunities.
After lunch, the students worked on presentations along with volunteers before delivering them to the rest of the group. Shadique Gani, project manager at ELBA, said:

ELBA has since continued to work with the London Stock Exchange and arranged another visit for later on in the year to continue providing insights to young people across East London.
