Celebrating ELBA’s commitment to youth employability

ELBA has been honoured with a certificate of appreciation from the education charity The Switch. We have been recognised for our impactful work experience programme for students from Tower Hamlets. This award celebrates our dedication to providing young people with invaluable real-world experience and skills that prepare them for the future.

Over the past eight months, ELBA has proudly hosted more than 20 work experience students, actively engaging them in developing crucial employability skills. Our work experience programme is designed to bridge the gap between education and the professional world, offering students a firsthand look at the meaningful work ELBA does in the community. By connecting classroom learning with practical workplace experience, we help young people make informed decisions about their future studies and career goals.

A special congratulations goes to Lima Ali, HR Assistant, and Samie John, Project Manager, for their leadership and dedication in designing and managing this programme. Students have consistently praised their engagement and the well-structured, positive experiences they provided.

Throughout their placements, students have actively developed and enhanced a range of vital skills, aligning with the Skills Builder Framework. This universal approach ensures a consistent language and method for skill development across education, employers and social impact organisations, ultimately boosting employability, career progression, life satisfaction and national productivity.

Below, we’ve captured testimonials from students and guardians who have shared how meaningful this work experience has been:

“Thank you so much Lima for a fun work experience, I feel that I have more information and knowledge about business charities.”

“Thanks for having me as a work experience student at ELBA.”

“ELBA provided me with a supportive environment. I enjoyed the hospitality of the staff, particularly the facilitators, who promoted open communication, encouraged them, and assured them no one would hesitate to ask for help.”
