After School Clubs – answering community need
As school budgets tighten, tailored after school support has proved invaluable to ensure children’s learning and success in the classroom. ELBA has had the pleasure of placing two volunteers at Community Solutions’ Education Station after school club.
Here’s Diego Medina, a Standard Chartered volunteer, on his thoughts about the club:
“After a very long day at work and a demanding session at the Education Station, it was hard to keep driven and inspired. I was about to go down the stairs to leave the place exhausted, but I heard the voice of my student screaming my name while running to hug me goodbye ‘Thank you Diego. See you next week?’ That small show of gratitude made it all to be worth and gave me enough energy for the rest of my week.”
