Happy Volunteers’ Week from the Education team at ELBA!
Happy Volunteers’ Week from the Education team at ELBA!
Written by Zaina Ali, Project Manager – Education Works, ELBA
Here in the Education team, we thought that Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) was the perfect time to share some of the fabulous opportunities volunteers have recently taken part in / will soon take part in.
On 5 June, we teamed up with JLL to organise a Career Insight Visit for students from Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre (The NCS). The students enjoyed absorbing all the information volunteers had to offer, as well as working closely with them on JLL’s own sustainability challenge which was designed to get the students thinking about how important it is to consider environmental factors when designing an office. The students thought of some fantastic ideas – young people really do hold the key to a better (and cleaner!) future.
Here’s what we have coming up in the next few months:
– Mock interviews with college students
– Sustainability focused career insight visits
– Debate competitions
– Dragons’ Den for business students
.. and much more! Keep your eyes peeled and definitely watch this space.
ELBA is extremely grateful for the support of volunteers.. If you are looking to make a positive impact on the lives of young people, consider volunteering with ELBA next academic year. Contact education@elbaworks-1.org.uk.
