Executive Partnerships: coaching relationships that support leaders to flourish

Here at ELBA we are really proud of our Executive Partnership programmes. Executive Partnerships pair some of east London’s not for profit and public sector leaders with business volunteers from ELBA’s corporate partners for a one-to-one coaching relationship which takes place over ten months. The pairs meet once a month to overcome challenges and to learn from one another. It’s very gratifying to get awesome feedback for our Executive Partnership programmes. We know that when we bring inspirational leaders together from corporate and community sectors, in carefully matched, bespoke partnerships, we get great results.
This month we have been collecting feedback from the most senior staff at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets who have been meeting with their senior peers from State Street, Societe Generale, Nomura, Accenture and M3 Consulting over the past year. Here are some of their comments on the programme:
“It gave me confidence and support, helped me test ideas and enabled me to be bold and rock the boat.”
“It helped my thinking evolve bring some commercial thinking into what I was doing.”
“We enjoyed sharing our skills knowledge and experience across the sectors. It was refreshing, stimulating and stretching.”
“I found this an insightful, reflective, supportive and safe space which was very solutions focused.”
“It is a very useful tool for discussing issues and solutions and talk things through. Partners are neutral and everything is confidential so you are able to be open and honest.”
“It was a very positive experience and helped me to look at my challenges from a different perspective.”
This work builds on the amazing Executive Partnerships programme we have been running with Morgan Stanley. Now in its third year our Emerging Women Leaders programme has matched over 40 women leaders from the not for profit sector across east London with female Executive and Managing Directors, learning together and growing together in their mutual leadership journey. Stefka Kavaldjeva, Executive Director and Steering Committee Member of the Women’s Business Alliance at Morgan Stanley, said of the programme:

Executive Partnerships Programmes demonstrate the incredible impact that ELBA’s corporate partners can have in supporting the not for profit and public sector in east London. We look forward to creating new partnerships and to hearing about how they have helped to build thriving communities in east London.
