White Ribbon Day

Written by Ian Parkes, ELBA CEO

25 November is White Ribbon Day and we will be paying tribute to the many community organisations that support women and those who are working with men to bring about change.

The murders of Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa, Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman have all recently highlighted the violence that women experience by men. However, their attacks by random strangers are rare.

Equally horrifying are the reported figures of one woman being killed every three days*. The problem starts with men and the solution must come from a change in men’s behaviour.

ELBA supports the White Ribbon campaign which aims to work with men and boys to change attitudes towards women.
