Virtual food drive opportunity

 In Community, News

Food banks in east London are struggling in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. Donations are down 25% and with people panic-buying in supermarkets, important staples like UHT milk are difficult to come by. The closure for all schools from the 20th of March has put an extra strain on food banks.

To support food banks as much as possible, ELBA has set up a virtual food drive in which volunteers are asked to do an online shop for a food bank. Volunteers will secure a budget, do an online shop, and then organise delivery to ELBA. ELBA will then distribute the items to our food bank partners: – Hackney Food Bank – Hope Family Trust – Eat or Heat – Redbridge Food Bank – Newham Food Bank – Community Food Enterprise.
