New Season, New BoardMatch

New Season, New BoardMatch

Written by Liz Magill, Senior Project Manager

We kicked off March with BoardMatch26 hosted by JLL! It was an evening filled with new connections and conversations between ELBA’s business partner employees and community organisations. The energy in the room was contagious and inspiring.

These community organisations are actively seeking trustees to join their boards. A charity’s board helps to shape the strategy of the organisation and provides key support and guidance. The skills and experiences of our partner’s employees are incredibly valuable to the organisations. We truly believe that everyone has something to offer a board as long as they are passionate about the work of the organisation.

While becoming a trustee is a large commitment, it is also incredibly rewarding and highly impactful. Not only do trustees get the opportunity to engage with and support the community in a new way, but the experience also allows for professional development and engaging more with the third sector on a deeper level.

“Being a trustee opened me to a collaborative way of working different to the corporate style, where everyone came together with diverse views but completely aligned on a positive outcome.”

“Becoming a trustee has had a huge impact on my professional development, in particular, my understanding of effective governance, my ability to engage at a strategic level and my knowledge of different business functions.”

As we wrap up another successful BoardMatch event, we are already looking ahead to the next one. BoardMatch27 will be hosted in early June, so keep your eyes peeled for registration!
