Connect launches two exciting programmes

Connect launches two exciting programmes

Written by Anya Rudolphy, Head of Programme, Connect, ELBA

We have two exciting programmes launching from the Connect team in September.

Our Autumn Leaders in Partnership (LIP) cohort is officially open for registration for both volunteers and community partners.

Leaders in Partnership aims to strengthen the leadership of the charity sector in east London. It achieves this by creating one to one coaching-style partnerships between community leaders and their peers in the corporate world. This impactful 10 month programme creates a space for leaders to gain external support from a corporate counterpart and has continued to grow in popularity since its inception. Leadership in the third sector is extremely demanding due to the unpredictable nature of community work. From tight budgets, irregular incomes and overworked employees, our leaders are often required to wear many hats.

ELBA’s LIP programme gives our community leaders time and space to plan and prioritise challenges in order to best serve the communities they support. It’s time for ELBA to open the doors for the Autumn programme…all leaders are welcome. If you want to be part of this purposeful programme please get into contact with Colin  (colin.okirie@elba-1.org.uk)

We are also launching a new Digital Compass Programme, which offers community partners three months of high-impact support from volunteers on a digital, IT or data challenge they are facing. ELBA has long worked with community organisations on IT and digital skills, and this program is a direct response to the growing need for organisations to develop better practice and methods of capturing and measuring data.

Organisations look for volunteer support in many ways across ELBA’s work. Connect’s longer-term programmes offer business volunteers an opportunity to proactively engage in the work of the charity sector, understand their needs and help resolve challenges that organisations would otherwise have limited resources to address.

Skills-based volunteering is defined in many ways, for Connect we aim to offer a quality opportunity to both community organisations and volunteers that allows the business and community sectors to work together and learn from each other. If you are interested in being part of our upcoming programmes get in touch via communtiy@elba-1.org.uk
