Great Hall, great volunteers!

The historic Great Hall at Guildhall was filled with energy earlier this month as the City of London Corporation hosted its annual City Volunteers Reception. Bringing together volunteers and community organisers from across the City, the evening was an inspiring celebration of the individuals who dedicate their time to making London a more connected, vibrant place to live and work.

BIG Alliance programmes on display

Holding the event during Volunteers’ Week provided a perfect moment to reflect on the immense value of service. Speakers highlighted how volunteering serves as a powerful catalyst for unity: forging unexpected connections, enhancing personal wellbeing through a shared sense of purpose, and anchoring a deeper feeling of community and place.

For the BIG Alliance team, the evening held an extra point of pride. The contribution of our community partners was prominently featured on a pinboard celebrating the local impact achieved through LEAP (the City of London Corporation’s employee volunteering programme).

A huge thank you to the City of London Corporation for a fantastic evening, and to the volunteers working to strengthen our communities.
