Citadel care kits donation to Hackney Children & Baby Bank

As the season of giving soon approaches, Citadel have kickstarted the festive period with a generous donation of children and baby essential items packaged into care kits to Hackney Children & Baby Bank.

The Baby Bank have proudly been supporting the Hackney community and surrounding boroughs with essential items for mums, babies, and children from ages 0-12 since their story began in 2020.

Jane at Hackney Children & Baby Bank has done a spectacular job creating a warm and welcoming space at the baby bank. With the help of Jane’s husband who painted their beautiful jungle themed wall, the community organisers have established a safe haven for expecting mums, newborn parents, and families in urgent need of essentials such as nappies, shoes, and coats.

With the waiting list of families in need of essential items ever growing, the Baby Bank heavily depends on donations from the public and businesses who offer support in covering the costs for purchasing new items to be donated. Citadel has kindly donated 250 children’s and baby kits to Hackney Children & Baby Bank with items such as toothbrushes, baby shampoo, and nappy creams.

The Cost of Living crisis continues to be a strenuous burden for low-income households with families struggling to cope especially in the colder season. These donations will ensure that when parents and families visit the Baby Bank, they do not feel limited to request only a select few items, but can now take whole kits which include all the essential items that families are in need of when they come to visit.

The care kits are small bags filled with big impact for those in need. ELBA, Jane, and Hackney Children and Baby Bank are extremely grateful to Citadel for another year of thoughtful giving.

The Baby Bank is still in need of other donations such as children’s clothes for ages 3-12 years, buggies, and Moses baskets for newborns.
