Building community resilience in times of hardship – Community Partner Survey results 2022
Written by Stanley Shepherd, Community Development Senior Project Manager, Challenge:ELBA
The last few years have been very difficult for community organisations and their beneficiaries. With 3 million households unable to afford to heat their home; 1 in 5 households say they have already faced a ‘heat or eat’ dilemma. Many of our community partners have experienced a huge increase in demand for their services, making the need for volunteer support greater than ever.
2022 saw a drastic upturn in engagement with over 7000 volunteers supporting East London community organisations through ELBA’s various programmes. On top of the invaluable volunteer support, our business partners’ have directly contributed a substantial amount of £336,713 toward ELBA’s community partners.
Every year, we survey our community partners to gather feedback on our impact to ensure we are supporting the East London community in the most effective way possible. The response from our community partners has been overwhelmingly positive, with 95% of respondents happy with ELBA’s services, and 83% receiving support that they would not have received elsewhere.
We want to thank all of our community partners who contributed to the survey. We would also like to thank the volunteers from our business partners, whose support has been invaluable in these difficult times.
We are encouraging community organisations to reach out if there is a need for volunteer support; please email info@elba-1.org.uk.
