BoardMatch8: ELBA and BIG Alliance team up once again to place trustees

The start of November saw the arrival of Trustees Week and both ELBA, and BIG Alliance, played our part, staging our eighth BoardMatch event. BoardMatch brings together a selection of local charities that are actively recruiting new trustees and a large number of prospective trustees from across ELBA’s community of business partners, for an evening of introductions. Events are held at the offices of our business partners and, on this occasion, UBS acted as hosts, providing a fantastic venue for BoardMatch8.

During BoardMatch8, 101 attendees had the opportunity to hear a one minute pitch from fourteen incredible charities, all of which are doing vitally important work in their respective fields. They then had the chance to meet the charities’ CEOs, and existing trustees, before registering their interest in joining a board.

ELBA and BIG Alliance will work with both the charities and prospective trustees in the coming weeks to ensure that the charities are able to recruit the trustees they need and that candidates secure their perfect placement.

ELBA and BIG Alliance now place over 100 trustees each year. Becoming a trustee is one of the most valuable ways in which you can volunteer your time and we know that a strong board of trustees can have a profound impact on the fortunes of a charity.
