BIG UK Disability History Month celebrations
By Forida Rahman, Project Manager, BIG Alliance
BIG Alliance works with a range of disability-focused organisations within Islington. One such charity is Centre 404, a charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities.
Their extensive range of services includes:
- Adult supported living: offering tailored assistance to help adults with learning disabilities live as independently as possible within the community.
- Playschemes for young people: providing fun, safe, and engaging activities for young people.
Leaders in Partnership
Our engagement with Centre 404 is further strengthened through the Leaders in Partnership programme. This initiative is designed to support and enhance the skills of leaders within the charity sector through cross-sector collaboration.
Centre 404’s Volunteer and Engagement Coordinator, is a current participant. Through the programme they will receive:
- Coaching and mentorship from experienced professionals in the corporate sector.
- Strategic support to help Centre 404 navigate challenges, develop new strategies and further expand their services.
This collaboration exemplifies BIG Alliance’s belief that by bridging the expertise of the corporate and charity worlds, we can collectively work towards a more inclusive and equitable Islington where the lives and contributions of disabled people are fully valued.
