While there are many ways to volunteer and support the community, long term volunteering allows you to form relationships with passionate individuals working in the community, gain a deeper understanding of the charity sector and to share your own skills and experiences in a meaningful way. If you are looking to take that next step and share your time, skills and expertise in an even more meaningful way, ELBA has multiple long term volunteering opportunities.
“An understanding of the challenges my community faces. Also the amazing resourcefulness of the 3rd sector to provide high-quality services with an extremely limited budget.” – a charity trustee who joined through a BoardMatch event
“Insight to the challenges faced by our charities plus the great work that they do.” – volunteer who took part in Digital Compass
“This project is going to help with [how] our company communicate[s] the work it does. Within the team, within a national research level, to potential funders, to potential patients.” – the impact of Digital Compass volunteers on one organisation
These quotes show just a fraction of the impact of long term volunteering.
While becoming a charity trustee is one of the largest volunteering commitments an individual can make, its impact can’t be understated. The next BoardMatch event will take place on Wednesday 5 March hosted at JLL.
We are currently recruiting for Leaders in Partnership, a unique opportunity to provide 1-1 support to a community leader while also gaining personal development. Recruitment ends at 5pm on the 14th of February, but early applications are encouraged.
Everyone has valuable skills and experiences to offer a community organisation and through longer term volunteering you are able to increase your impact. We encourage you to consider breaking up your allotted volunteering days into shorter time blocks over a longer period of time to amplify your impact!
