Magdalena Furgalska, Social Value Delivery Lead at Accenture, here tells us about the satisfaction she gains from volunteering, about the great impact one can have from minimal time given, and why ELBA is truly a great partner 🙂

Why do you volunteer?
It brings me huge satisfaction to see the impact of the events that we host as part of our contract delivery. It is lovely to see how we can support school children in exploring the many options that they have in the working world and giving them a taste of what it would be like for them to work in the tech sector. Most importantly, it is great to see them realise that there are many routes into the tech industry. Everyone’s journey is unique, and you are not stuck with the first job that you ever go into!

What have you gained from your volunteering experience?
I have realised the importance of the industry working with charities to impact local communities, and exactly just how much that means to individuals! ELBA (huge shout-out to Robin in the Education team) has been amazing during the entire interaction with us – from planning to organising to facilitating! Truly a great partner!

Would you recommend volunteering to a colleague and, if so, why?
Yes, definitely – if you have any spare time, definitely get involved! You will be surprised at how much impact you can have with minimum time donated to supporting others!
