When did you join ELBA / BIG Alliance?

What is your role and what does it involve?
As a Project Manager for Mentoring Works, my primary focus is on young people, specifically students in years 10 to Sixth Form. I am responsible for coordinating both strategic and operational support, leveraging the expertise of volunteers from corporate companies in areas such as Finance, Marketing, HR, Business Development, and Communications. Our goal is to help young people develop and enhance their skills, while introducing them to the world of employment, raising aspirations, enabling young people to identify career goals, and developing key skills and competencies. We aim to increase their employability.

In addition to my role, I’m also part of ELBA’s wellbeing team known as WELBA. It’s an internal group where we run sessions for fellow ELBA staff to educate each other about the importance of wellbeing and taking care of ourselves mentally and physically.

Tell us one thing that people may not know about you
I love water sports, deep sea diving, jet skiing,  etc. I even own a boat but….. I can’t swim!

Tell us the best thing about working for ELBA
The people! My colleagues are genuinely the nicest people and I have been working in a professional office environment for more than two decades.

Name your favourite place in east London and why
Ooh this is hard, I have been in Tower Hamlets all my life. Growing up, I used to go to the Sunday Market and Petticoat Lane Market a lot. I love the parks – Victoria, Mile End and Shadwell are really nice and big, and I love the positive transformation in the last 30 years. It’s very vibrant and multicultural.
