Staff Spotlight – Libby Knight-Densem, Broadgate Connect Project Manager

When did you join ELBA / BIG Alliance?
September 2022

What is your role and what does it involve?
I lead on ELBA’s Broadgate Connect Project. The aim is to support residents of Tower Hamlets and Hackney into employment through various training and employment opportunities. We simultaneously offer free recruitment services to businesses on the Broadgate Campus.

Broadgate Connect recently celebrated it’s 10-year anniversary and since inception has placed over 500 talented people into work. I am new to this role, coming over from London Works, ELBA’s recruitment agency arm, but I have enjoyed every minute of it so far!

Three words to describe yourself
Bubbly, compassionate and easy-going.

Tell us one thing that people may not know about you
I have a pet pig back home named George. He’s 200kg and loves his belly rubs!

Tell us the best thing about working for ELBA
Definitely has to be the people. Coming over from New Zealand into a new environment was daunting, but everyone was so welcoming and made me feel right at home. I genuinely feel like I have met some friends for life.

Name your favourite place in east London and why
I am yet to do more exploring of east London, however I love the parks this part of London has to offer, especially Greenwich Park! Strolling through the parks, amongst nature with a coffee in hand is where you will find me at the weekend.

Complete this sentence ‘The absolute best thing about volunteering is…’,
helping people. Knowing you are out there making a difference is so rewarding and nothing compares to that feeling.
