Please tell us about yourself to give readers an understanding of your journey
Throughout my career journey, I have encountered both opportunities and challenges that have shaped my personal and professional growth. I have always had a passion for making a positive impact on people’s lives. I have worked in different sectors, including a startup, Data analysis, operations, and system engineering, which has allowed me to gain a well-rounded perspective on various industries.

In the energy sector, I had the opportunity to work with Ecosave, a company dedicated to combating environmental damage. I actively engaged in negotiating the best deals for customers while promoting green providers. This experience fuelled my desire to contribute to sustainable practices and find solutions to the challenges our planet faces.

As an operation supervisor, I took on the responsibility of briefing staff members, ensuring their understanding of their roles and responsibilities. Additionally, I prioritised health and safety measures, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, by managing the logistics of the test centre and reporting inventory stock to the relevant health officials. This role taught me the importance of effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in rapidly changing environments.

Furthermore, during my time in Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies, I witnessed first-hand how engineering expertise and innovation can address some of the world’s greatest challenges. This experience inspired me to further develop my system engineering skills and contribute to solving complex problems.

The challenges I faced along my journey have only strengthened my determination and resilience. I recognised the need for continuous personal and professional growth, which led me to ELBA. I came to ELBA seeking a platform where I could collaborate with like-minded individuals, expand my skill set, and create a meaningful impact in the community. ELBA’s mission to drive positive change aligns perfectly with my aspirations, and I am excited to be part of a community that shares these values.

How did you hear about ELBA?
A friend told me about ELBA and specifically the Parity Project and how it helps young Black men with gaining employment.

Please tell us about how ELBA has supported you?
I have participated in CV Review and Mock interviews in which I was taught tips on CV writing, and ways of improving how I perform in interviews, to best show my skill set and experience. I was taught the STAR technique which is a format that helps show how I approach solving problems.

What difference has this support made to you/your challenges?
This support helped me to get a job with the Parity project as a project coordinator.

Would you recommend ELBA to others and, if so, why?
Yes, as it brings together businesses and the local community to drive positive social and economic change.
