Staff Spotlight – Cordel Fraser, Project Manager
When did you join ELBA?
I first first joined ELBA in 2013 and left in 2017, I then returned in 2023
What is your role and what does it involve?
As a Project Manager within the Education Team, my role allows me to share first-hand knowledge and experience with young people who are beginning their journey into the professional world—helping them navigate not only the opportunities but also the common misconceptions that often come with it. This is accomplished through meaningful mentorships with professionals currently in roles that these young people aspire to. Additionally, we deliver workshops focused on workplace behavior, employer expectations, and the importance of code-switching—supporting the transition from peer-to-peer behavior to professional conduct, all while encouraging authenticity and staying true to oneself. A key part of this journey is the Career Insight Visit (CIV), which offers a real-time experience of a workplace environment. It brings together all the lessons learned, showing young people just how attainable their goals truly are.
Three words to describe yourself
Empathetic, Fun, Creative
Tell us one thing that people may not know about you
I’m a passionate sneaker collector with over a hundred pairs (and counting!). I’ve been into sneakers since secondary school, and many pieces in my collection carry sentimental value—especially the ones I couldn’t have, or let’s be honest, couldn’t afford back then. Now that I can, I definitely make up for lost time—sometimes going all in and grabbing certain pairs in every color I can find… lol. It’s more than just a hobby for me; it’s a fun, expressive way to celebrate personal milestones and childhood dreams.

Name your favourite place in east London and why
For me it would have to be Spitalfields Market as it has something for everyone! I love the food, local independent traders and the overall vibe is great.
