Please tell us about yourself to give readers an understanding of your journey
I am a university student with a strong passion for professional growth, community engagement and personal development. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve taken on various roles, including student ambassador, community influencer, and event organiser, which have helped me develop valuable skills in communication, public speaking and networking. However, while these experiences strengthened my confidence and leadership abilities, I wanted to gain deeper insights into the corporate world, develop industry-specific skills and challenge myself in a professional setting. That’s what led me to apply for an internship at AXA XL through the ELBA BOOST! programme. I faced challenges such as understanding corporate expectations and adapting to a structured workplace. This is where ELBA and the BOOST! programme played a crucial role, offering mentorship, training and ongoing support to help me transition smoothly into my internship. Thanks to this experience, I’ve gained technical knowledge and the confidence to take on new challenges in my career journey.

From the beginning, the ELBA team provided career guidance, helping me understand what to expect from my internship and how to make the most of it. They offered insightful sessions on workplace skills, networking strategies and career development, which gave me a clearer understanding of how to navigate the corporate world. Additionally, the mentoring support from ELBA has been invaluable. Through discussions with mentors and industry professionals, I’ve gained practical advice on handling challenges, building my confidence in a corporate setting and setting career goals.
