My time at ELBA as an apprentice has been exciting and eventful. My apprenticeship started in September 2022 and it has been an incredible journey filled with opportunities that I may not have had otherwise. I’ve had the unique opportunity to rotate through all the teams, including a 3-month placement in a corporate setting, gaining first hand experience of their roles and responsibilities giving me a rounded understanding. It has given me insight into how each team operates and their day to day tasks. Every day has been a learning experience, filled with new challenges and opportunities to develop my skills, making my time here both inspiring and rewarding. 

The unique structure of my apprenticeship allows me to experience the best of both worlds, immersing myself in the professional working environment while also embracing university life. This balance has given me a well rounded perspective and helped me grow both personally and professionally.

I am currently pursuing a degree in Business Management in Social Change and Chartered Management, which has deepened my understanding of how businesses can drive positive social impact. As I look ahead to completing my apprenticeship in July 2026, I am excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead. I am eager to continue learning, growing, and making meaningful contributions.

One of the most rewarding experiences during my apprenticeship has been the opportunity to play a role in one of ELBA’s key projects: the Toy Appeal. Over the past three years, I have gradually taken on more responsibility, progressing from assisting with administrative tasks to co-leading. It has been a fulfilling experience to see the impact of our work, knowing that we are bringing joy to children and families in need. As I enter my final year, I am excited about the possibility of leading this project and continuing to build on its success.

I have had the opportunity to engage with various teams across ELBA, participating in workshops, meetings, and events that have broadened my understanding of the organisation. These experiences have strengthened my skills in project management, communication, and teamwork while also boosting my confidence and personal growth. This apprenticeship has been transformative, pushing me out of my comfort zone and helping me develop a proactive and adaptable mindset. I look forward to expanding my skill set, embracing new challenges, and making a meaningful impact at ELBA.
