ELBA turns 35
ELBA turns 35
Ahead of ELBA celebrating its 35th anniversary in November, our employees have been busy with a day-long Cost of Living challenge, in collaboration with 35 of our fantastic community partners.
ELBA’s Speed Shop & Drop event, a pilot skills-based group volunteering activity, saw employees race across Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Barking and Dagenham, Islington and Southwark supermarkets in teams to purchase essential items for those in need. It was an exciting and rewarding day, demonstrating the power of teamwork and community spirit.
We are incredibly grateful to our corporate supporters for their generous contributions towards our Cost of Living Appeal, and to the supermarket staff and community partners who helped make the event a success. Together, we ensured essential supplies were shopped, dropped and delivered to those who need them most.
Macy Khan, Partnerships Executive, Body & Soul:
“I want to give a huge thank you. We will be using your donations to create care packages to send-out to members within our HIV programme. This is a community of people who are often overlooked, primarily Black African migrants and refugees, mainly women and their children living with the effects of HIV. Your donations will show them that they are worthy of care which is crucial to their confidence and self-esteem!”
Tropical Isles team:
“Here at Tropical Isles and the community we support, we wanted to extend our deepest and dearest appreciation for the donations we have received for the 35 years of ELBA project. Your organisation is such a bridge to people’s lives and happiness! We are appreciative to be able to extend these goods to people of needs within our reach and community.”
