Leaders in Partnership Autumn 2024
Leaders in Partnership Autumn 2024
Written by Zakia Sheba, Community Development Project Manager, Connect
Launching in September 2024, the Leaders in Partnership coaching programme is set to empower community organisations by enhancing their self-confidence, leadership skills, and strategic capabilities.
This 10-month initiative pairs community leaders with business volunteers who serve as coaches, fostering a mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and skills. For community organisations, this programme offers a unique opportunity to build on their strengths, gain valuable insights, and develop robust strategies for sustainable growth.
Business volunteers, acting as coaches, bring a wealth of expertise and fresh perspectives, while simultaneously gaining a deeper understanding of the third sector. This exposure broadens their horizons, fosters empathy, and enhances their own leadership skills. The programme’s collaborative framework ensures that both community leaders and business volunteers emerge with enriched experiences and stronger networks, driving positive change within their communities.

2024 Digital Compass 2024
In September 2024, the Connect Team will be launching ‘Digital Compass’, a high impact volunteer support programme where groups of volunteers work together in teams to support a community organisation overcoming a digital challenge.
2023 was the first year the Connect Team ran this programme with projects including support with digital marketing, automation of process, app development, and many more. Feedback from this programme includes:
“I’ve learnt more about how such organisations operate; the flexibility and ingenuity that staff deploy and the funding challenges the organisations face.”
– Volunteer supporting a community partner
“We were very lucky to be matched with a great group of volunteers who worked well together even though they had not met before. We were able to be flexible with our project to work with the skills they brought to us which helped us to have a positive result.”
