BIG Alliance, Macquarie Group, and Slaughter and May celebrate 10 years of the CoRe programme
2018 saw the completion of the 10th CoRe (Community Resourcing) Programme, set up in 2009 to support community organisations with key operational needs and strategic challenges. Over a period of six months, 38 volunteers from Macquarie Group and Slaughter and May gave over 1,500 hours of time to eight Islington community organisations.
The programme Impact Report is now available for download and demonstrates the continued success of the CoRe programme. In 2018, participating charities included Abianda, Body & Soul, Creative Opportunities, Dallaglio RugbyWorks, London Village Network, Talk for Health, The Elfrida Society (pictured above) and The Parent House. Volunteers contributed to key strategic priorities, focusing on a variety of themes such as governance, operational expansion, GDPR and asset management.
Feedback was positive from both sides, with Abianda stating:
“We’re in a completely different place to where we were at the start of the programme.”
And volunteers appreciated the chance to use their business skills outside of work:
“It’s a great chance to learn new skills, meet new people, and give something back.”
BIG Alliance looks forward to facilitating CoRe 2019 and building on the successes of the last ten years. For any queries, please email: tom.browne@thebigalliance.org.uk.
