Hackney Works nominated for Charity Times award!
We are thrilled to have made the shortlist for the ‘Corporate Community Local Involvement’ award category in the Charity Times Awards, for our Hackney Works programme, with UBS, Linklaters and Societe Generale.
This year is the 19th annual Charity Times Awards, which celebrate best practice in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector. Organised by Charity Times, the awards recognise, celebrate, and promote best practice and promote and raise the profile of the charity sector as well as the partners working with those charities.
Hackney Works was a geographically based project running from 2010 – 1017, which used the time, skills and resources of ELBA corporate partners, Societe Generale, UBS and Linklaters (and formerly KPMG then British Land) and their employee volunteers to improve governance and overall performance of voluntary sector organisations and build employability and life skills of local unemployed people.
Following the success of the Hackney Works programme, Hackney East began in January 2018 with the project objectives of building the employability and life skills of local residents with employability training in collaboration with the Homerton Hub (Hackney Council employment service), and developing the capacity of local community organisations.
The winner will be announced at an event on 3rd October – so keep your eyes open for more news in our forthcoming newsletters!
