A free Lunch in the City…

ELBA rounded off the last week of April by holding a series of ‘Lunch and Learns’ at our corporate partners’ offices. Lunch and Learns give employees from ELBA’s member companies the chance to find out about the wide range of volunteering opportunities available to them at ELBA, and it’s all done over a lunchtime.

Many employees from across the member companies where ELBA held Lunch and Learns, signed-up to volunteer for some great upcoming opportunities happening this summer. ELBA colleagues were able to talk through the opportunities and help employees find ones they’d like to take part in, from volunteering to speak at school assemblies to being a judge on a ‘dragons den’ style panel. It was also great to have first time volunteers sign-up over the week.

A highlight at one of our member companies was having employees who had previously volunteered with ELBA in a Pitch for Success Workshop sharing the success of the day with their co-workers. Pitch for Success Workshops are opportunities for corporate volunteers to help community partners practise their pitches. A participant from the day said, “The format worked really well – it was apparent, from the calibre of the final pitches, that volunteers had invested some serious effort into giving each participant very tailored and nurturing coaching and support. This was an invaluable opportunity for me and I am delighted that I took part”.
