Managing Director, Head of Global Business Services – Barings
Rob is the Head of Global Business Services (GBS), that provides the operating platform for the investment management and other support teams. She joined Barings in September 2000 and has had various roles in the firm, including responsibility for ensuring that over USD 280 billion of assets under management are invested in line with client guidelines and regulatory rules. Delivering value on the client proposition is key to her GBS organisation, with structured delivery of services including performance measurement, attribution analysis, pricing and valuations, loan operations, asset servicing, cash forecasting, counterparty management, reconciliations and reporting transactions based data to regulators and trade repositories around the globe. Rob Chairs’ Barings’ Operations Leadership Team and sits on the firm’s Client Asset Oversight Working Group. She also serves as Chairperson for the UK Investment Association’s Trade & Transaction Reporting Sub-Committee. Rob is a non-executive director on the board of East London Business Alliance, and is an advisory board member for 10,000 Black Interns.
Rob is passionate about student mentoring, believing that young people can be inspired to realise their full potential when they have first-hand exposure to the achievements of others, who have worked within an asset management firm like Barings. In 2007 she co-founded the award winning Barings’ See the Possibilities (#BaringsStP) student programme. The programme mentors college and university students, allowing them to see the possibilities of how they can build a career in financial services.
Prior to joining Barings, Rob led a London-based fiduciary risk management team for Citigroup. She holds an MBA from Henley Business School, a professional chartered qualification in board room management and the Investment Management Certificate.
