Staff Spotlight – Forida Khanom, Head of HR

When did you join ELBA?
My journey with ELBA began in 2003 as a Business Administration apprentice. Over the past two decades, I have had the privilege of growing alongside the organisation, evolving through various roles, including Administrator, Project Coordinator, Project and Programme Manager, and Office Manager, leading to my current role in HR.

What is your role and what does it involve?
As Head of HR, I oversee the growth of our team. My role is a blend of operational essentials, like managing payroll and pensions and strategic growth, including recruitment, professional development, performance management, compliance and adopting employee wellbeing.

Three words to describe yourself
Committed, Passionate, Loyal.

Tell us one thing that people may not know about you
Football was my first big passion! Growing up, I was deeply involved in the sport and even played against Chelsea FC Girls and supported Manchester United with absolute passion.

Tell us the best thing about working for ELBA
ELBA is an incredible place to work, offering a unique position where you can engage with our partners across the City and Canary Wharf while staying deeply connected to the needs of the local community. Both personally and professionally, ELBA has been instrumental in shaping the person I am today.

Name your favourite place in east London and why
Stepney will always be my favourite. Having been born and raised there, the area is woven into my identity and holds all the cherished memories of my youth.
